Abstract

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is one of the most popular integrated software suites having been used for world-wide enterprises to support organizational business processes across business functions and departments. Many ERP projects were reported unsuccessful due to improper package selection and unproven methodology of ERP selection. Several studies on critical success factors (CSF) also confirmed the critical role of ERP systems selection for an enterprise. This study discusses the development of ERP selection methodology using a delta model that incorporates important criteria in the ERP selection that complies with the ISO25010 quality standards on software quality.  The proposed model was validated by expert surveys and was tested to a sample case of a real enterprise. The results confirmed that the proposed model can fit with need of an enterprise for ERP selection.

Abstract

In this paper, TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity Ideal Solution) is extended for solving Linear Fractional  Vector Optimization   problems (LFVOP) of a special type, where such problems have  block angular structure of the constraints.. In order to obtain a compromise ( satisfactory) solution to the above problems using the TOPSIS approach, a modified formulas for the distance function from the positive ideal solution (PIS ) and the distance function from the negative ideal solution (NIS) are proposed. An  interactive decision  making algorithm for generating a compromise ( satisfactory) solution through TOPSIS approach is provided where the decision maker (DM) is asked to specify the degree α and the relative importance of  the objectives. Finally, a numerical example is given to clarify the main results developed in the paper.

Abstract

The problem of optimizing advanced production systems as dynamical systems, complexes involving large investments has an important role, these systems must operate economically in order to recover the values embedded in them and in the shortest time. This object is achieved by the use of the optimization calculations. Also, the high degree of automation of advanced production systems resulting in high productivity of the system requires the application of optimization methods in concrete conditions for flexible production systems. In this context, research in this paper are directed towards the study of advanced production systems in order to know their behavior and performance as well, and if possible, even before the physical realization and to establish scientifically mathematical models dimensioning, optimization and simulation of these systems with an upward trend.

Abstract

When tracking legal texts in the Saudi law, it is apparent that the Saudi legislator did not provide an explicit definition for the crime involving abuse of corporate funds, , the legislator would rather settle with identifying practices that represent misuse of corporate funds, also briefly mentioned liabilities involving some companies, managers and partners in such crimes as stated in article 229 in the Saudi Corporate System, however, when taking into account the material element of the abuse using corporate funds, in a wider range, which will lead to major expansion of incriminating practices as prescribed by the legislator, and punishable  under the same Article.

Abstract

Implementation of Enterprise Resource planning System (ERP) that has three stages; pre-implementation, mid- implementation and post-implementation. In many pervious works the researchers detected that the ERP pre-implementation stage failed at human factors. Therefore, this work studies the relationship between human factors and ERP implementation at Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) Case study. The statistical results showed that the human factor unaware of the importance of ERP system, which leads the system to fail.

Abstract

The study evaluates the effectiveness of ICTs in distance learning delivery. Results indicate that distance learning students in Zimbabwe continue to rely on printed modules in their studies and that there is no clear-cut strategy at the Zimbabwe Open University to ensure that the institution benefits from harnessing the capabilities of ICTs. A sample of fifty students and ten lecturers was used and the methodology was the case study. The study also revealed that despite establishment of functional computer laboratories at all ZOU regional centres students continue to struggle to access library and information services from the institution.
